Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff, an actress from France, French actress was born on 3 May 1986. She studied at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris and has appeared in films like Loup (2009), Sleepless Night (2011) and Hacker's Game (2015). She portrays the role of Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to an Korean mother and French-Russian father who was employed as a consul there for the French government. Her grandfather was a painter Eugene Klementieff. Pom was her name since it sounds similar to the Korean words "spring" and "tiger" in Korean. Klementieff lived in Canada for one year. Her family had travelled extensively due to her father's work. Before moving to France they lived in Japan as well as on the Ivory Coast. Her father, who passed away aged 5 of cancer was her mother. Additionally, she suffered from schizophrenia and was unable to care for her children. Klementieff was raised with her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, whom she described as "like her father" passed away at the age of 18 years old. Klementieff's older brother who took his own life seven years later, was her aunt. Following the death of her uncle, Klementieff went to law school for a short time to please her aunt. However, she didn't find the career path appealing. She also worked as a waitress and saleswoman in France. She began acting at the age of 19 at the Cours Florent drama school in Paris. After she completed her education and gaining an audition in theater that granted her two years of tuition alongside some of the top instructors at the school. Klementieff was the stepdaughter of Catherine Deneuve in Apres lui (2006) which was her first ever professional acting role. The filming process was a three-day process. In one scene, Klementieff was pushing someone down the set stairs, but she fell. Gael Morel saved that footage for the final film. Loup (2009) which is an French film about the Siberian reindeer herders, was her debut significant role. Klementieff was filming in the middle of a camp located at a distance from the nearest village. It was there that temperatures plummeted to zero.
