Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) and was an executive director for national operations
at Mary Kay, and Freddie Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. Her home was San
Diego, California. She began her professional career when she was 14 when she
began modeling. She worked in Paris, Japan and Paris. After finishing high
school she decided to pursue a career as an actress. She was offered a part on
the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), and she was nominated for three daytime
Emmy Awards. The first season of the show she was in love with co-star Dane
Witherspoon, whom she married in 1986. Meanwhile, she starred in The Princess
Bride (1987) playing the title character. After being let go of the cast of
Santa Barbara, she got the role of the lead in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric.
In the year 1990, she was in State of Grace (1990) in which she became
acquainted with actor Sean Penn, by whom she had a daughter, Dylan Frances, and
a son, Hopper Jack. After a short break, Robin was back to Hollywood and landed
one of her most memorable roles of her career: She played Tara in The Playboys
(1992). She was a stunning actress and was a fantastic performer. Then, she
appeared in Toys (1992) with Robin Williams, and she did a great job in her performance.
Wright was also in 1994's blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994), in the lead
role with Tom Hanks. For her performance as Jenny, she got nominated for a
Golden Globe Award. She was also given a tiny role in The Crossing Guard (1995)
in which she starred alongside Jack Nicholson. After rejecting 14 roles she
finally got the lead role played by MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham
directed her and Stockard Channing starred. Later, she appeared in Erin
Dignam's Loved (1997) co-starring William Hurt.
