2 Chainz Biography

Tauheed Epps, better known by his professional name 2 Chainz, is a popular American hip hop and rapper artist. Georgia native, Epps started his career in music when he and a high school buddy created the hip-hop group Playaz Circle. Their debut album, entitled Supply and Demand" was a flop. Epps then followed it up with 'Based on an T.R.U. Story', his debut studio album. It was a top-ranked album on the US Billboard 200. It was a great commercial success. The album sold 147,000 copies in the first week! Since the release of this album, there has been no stopping him and he rose to be one of the top hip-hop artists in the US. He's been nominated for six Grammy Awards so far. One of those Grammys were awarded to him for his song "No Problem". When he was discovered to have marijuana and promethazine in his luggage, he was taken off a flight from Los Angeles International Airport. This caused controversy. The incident did not hinder his popularity. The fourth and newest studio album 'Pretty Girls Like Trap Music' released in June 2017. "Based on a T.R.U. Story', which was the first studio album by 2 Chainz, can be regarded as his first major work, as well as the most successful album of his career. It was a huge success and reached the first position in the US Billboard 200, as well as sold 147,000 copies within a week. The album eventually sold 623,000 copies during the course of the year. The album, with songs that were a hit, including 'No Lie' and 'Birthday Song' and'I'm Different' was nominated as  the 'Best Rap Album', at the 55th Grammy Awards. Reviews were mostly mixed. 2 Chainz wed Kesha Ward in 2013. The couple are proud parents to three children, Heavenly, Harmony, Halo. He has a long and successful career but is well-known for his inclination to get into legal trouble. He was arrested numerous times for possession of drugs.
