Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts, born 28 September 1968 is a British actress. Her family relocated to Australia, she made her film debut in the drama For Love Alone (1986) and later appeared in three shows on television, Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ (1991) as well as Home and Away (1991) and in the film Flirting (1991). Watts moved to America in the year 2000. She was initially struggling as an actress. In fact she was able to take small roles in films prior to becoming an actor in David Lynch's Mulholland Drive psychological thriller. This role started her rise to international fame. Watts then portrayed a tortured journalist in the horror film The Ring (2002). Her portrayal of grieving mother in Alejandro's 21 Grams (2003) was nominated her for the Academy Award. Her fame grew by playing starring parts in I Heart Huckabees (2004), King Kong (2005), Eastern Promises (2007), as well as The International (2009). Watts was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Actress for her role in The Impossible (2012). In the 2010s, she was in films such as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts was also a major character in blockbuster films, starring in Divergent (2015)-2016.
